Last post we talked about brain boosting foods. Here is another simple, yet effective activity to continue to live in wellness. It’s walking.
The Benefits of Walking
Walking is a low-impact, accessible form of exercise that offers numerous health benefits for both you and your pets:
Boosts Cardiovascular Health: Regular walking reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, lowers blood pressure, and improves circulation.
Supports Weight Management: Walking helps burn calories and maintain a healthy weight by boosting your metabolism.
Enhances Mental Well-being: Walking releases endorphins, lifting your mood and reducing stress, anxiety, and depression.
Strengthens Muscles and Bones: Walking strengthens muscles and bones, supports joint health, and prevents osteoporosis.
Improves Pet Health: Regular walks help maintain your pet's healthy weight, provide mental stimulation, and reduce behavioral issues.

1. Set Your Goal: Aim for a daily step count that challenges you. Whether it’s 5,000 or 10,000 steps, choose a goal that pushes you to stay active.
2. Track Your Steps: Use a fitness tracker, smartphone app, or pedometer to keep count of your steps.
3. Share Your Progress: Post your daily step count on social media and tag us using @restore_fitness2020 and #walking. Encourage friends and family to join in!
4. Celebrate Milestones: Celebrate your achievements along the way. Whether it’s reaching a weekly goal or completing a month of daily steps, every milestone is worth celebrating.
Walking is more than just a physical activity; it’s a way to connect with nature, clear your mind, and bond with your pets. It’s a simple, enjoyable way to incorporate more movement into your day and improve your overall well-being.
OH! And try not to keep looking at your phone while doing it! Not only do you want to avoid running into that tree but things you notice around you without a screen in front of your face can shock you.
Lastly, try walking BACKWARDS!!! So many benefits to this as well.
Stay well and happy walking,
